The Merit League is the first step for Universities who aspire to play in BUCS competitions. The Merit league allows the opportunity to organise fixtures as regularly as they wish and allows clubs the opportunity to develop before they enter BUCS leagues.
Rugby League 9’s
Played in festival format Rugby League 9’s is ideal for developing Universities with limited numbers or for clubs just wishing to play a one off fixture. Held regionally the SRL 9’s competitions are ideal for teams of all abilities.
Performance Pathway
The Student Rugby League Performance Programme offers students the opportunity to represent their Country in Rugby League.
The performance pathway begins with players from each university being invited to trial to represent the South East of England. These regional sides then compete at a national festival where players are then selected to represent their respective national side.
